ABOUT THE WALTHAM STAMP CLUB

The Waltham Stamp Club is a member of the American Philatelic Society (Chapter #683), the United Stamp Societies, Inc., and the Northeastern Federation of Stamp Clubs.

We are an informal but well-organized club that welcomes stamp collectors at all levels. Members should be 21 or older but permission can be sought to allow younger persons to join us. No one should be scared to join us if they feel they are a new collector or have little knowledge about stamp collecting.

We meet at the Cardinal Spellman Philatelic Museum on the campus of Regis College in Weston, MA on the first and third Tuesdays of each month, with a few exceptions such as special Saturday brunch meetings held twice a year..

Meetings open at 7:00pm for coffee and donuts, and a business meeting follows at 7:30pm for 30 to 60 minutes. We usually then have a presentation by a member on a subject related to stamp collecting such as postal history, unique stamps, buying and selling stamps, and periodic "Show and Tell" nights. We also hold informal cash-only auctions of stamps, albums, and books several times a year.

COVID SPECIAL NOTE: due to the COVID pandemic, we have created a hybrid meeting format, where you can attend in person at the museum, or, connect with us on Zoom to avoid contact with others in our museum meeting room. This method also works well if you are located over an hour away, or are uncomfortable driving at night.

One of our members operates a bourse at each meeting from the United Stamp Societies, and, APS distributions. Members may purchase stamps prior to and during the business meeting after reviewing the bourse books.

A newsletter for members is published several times a year and distributed by email.

A special feature of the Waltham Stamp Club is our annual philatelic show called WALPEX. Currently the show is scheduled in late October, and is held at the Regency Hotel and Conference Center in Boxboro, MA, right off I-495.

Again, we stress that our meetings offer a relaxed and social atmosphere to discuss stamp collecting. All are welcome.
