BIRTH AND RISE OF OUR NATION: PART 2  - by Stephen Neuman

In part one, presented Jan 5, we discussed the stamps issued as part of the

American Bicentennial celebration and the revolt by the colonists against

King George III.  With the Revolutionary War ended at Yorktown and the

Treaty of Paris signed in 1783, the thirteen states had all just ratified the

Articles of Confederation and were preparing the most important and

meaningful document of our new Government – the US Constitution.

The story is told through the stamps and covers presented in the second

part of Birth and Rise of Our Nation Part 2.
